（県南）横手市 三又地域 / Mitsumata in Yokote City
令和元年10月27日 / October 27th, 2019.
三又地域では、１０年以上前から横手城南高校生アクティブボランティアの受け入れを続けています。春の田植えと秋の山内にんじん収穫体験を指導しています。この日も同校２０名の生徒が公民館に集まり身支度をして、４班に分かれてにんじんの収穫作業をしました。
The Mitsumata area has been hosting the Yokote Jonan High School’s “Active Volunteers” for more than a year. The volunteers are given guidance in rice planting in the spring and Sannai carrot harvest experience in the autumn. On this day, 20 students gathered at the public hall, prepared themselves, and divided into 4 groups to harvest carrots.
山内にんじんは長く引き抜きづらいですが、農家からの助言を聞いて、効率よく作業をすることができました。終わりのセレモニー後は山内にんじんの入った「芋の子汁」を賞味し、農家に感謝して、農業に親しむ時間を満喫しました。
The Sannai carrots are long and difficult to pull out, but with some advice from farmers the students were able to work efficiently. After the closing ceremony, they enjoyed Imonokojiru, a local traditional soup with Japanese taro roots, which was served with Sannai carrots. They appreciated the farmers and enjoyed the time to familiarize themselves with local agriculture.
