（県南）横手市狙半内地域／Saruhannai Area, Yokote City

横手市狙半内地域は、６集落１５０世帯からなる地域で、狙半内地区交流センターを中心にまとまり、いろいろな活動を行っています。

Saruhannai area of Yokote City consists of 150 households in 6 villages. The residents gather at the Saruhannai area civic center to engage in different activities.

集落ごとの花壇造り、夏季・秋季のスポーツ交流会、視察研修、そば打ち体験等々盛だくさんです。
秋のジャンボカボチャ大会では出来栄えを競い、「良く育てた賞」や「バラエティ賞」などの賞を作って好評です。
また、冬まつりの「元祖さるはんない幻灯」の行事や、通年で高齢者の通院・買い物に一日４往復する「^＊さるはんない三平カー」の運行も行っています。

They have diverse activities such as making flowerbeds in each neighborhood, sports festivals in summer and fall, field trips, and soba-making workshops. At the fall Jumbo Pumpkin Contest, participants compete to win “Good Cultivation Award” and “Variety Award” and other prizes. This is a popular event.
In addition, a festival called “the Original Saruhannai Illuminative Lanterns” is held in winter, and the “Saruhannai Sanpei Car,” is a transportation service operated throughout the year, making 4 round trips a day to take the elderly people to the hospitals and for shopping.
