Key details

The history of “Katsura” dates back around 320 years. The house has been handed down from generation to generation and has become a farm inn where people can gather and stay.

Once you step inside the guesthouse, you will sense the warmth and atmosphere that is typical of old buildings. Enjoy a taste of country life by experiencing the kindness and generosity of the couple who own this inn, and try some of their delicious seasonal cooking.

The “ranma” (wallspaces over sliding doors) are made in traditional style, without the use of glue or nails. Outside the house, items such as carts passed down over the years catch your eye. In the garden, there is a large “katsura” tree (Japanese Judas tree) with the name of the owners on it. This is the tree that gives the inn its name, greeting and welcoming visitors as they arrive.
